FPOS Basic is for people who may have to manage an incident for up to 20 minutes before the arrival of the emergency services. The course typically runs for 20 hours and includes: 

  • Scene safety
  • Patient assessment
  • Breathing and airway management
  • Basic Life Support (CPR)
  • Defibrillation
  • Control of bleeding and care of shock
  • Medical emergencies (heart attack, diabetes, stroke, epilepsy).
  • Trauma care (Fractures, burns, head injury)
